@Jungle Jane No, don't feel like this, you are a very talented lady who makes beautiful things, people want handmade and they want to pay for them, so don't feel bad about using your craft skills to please others.

I'd just like to say that I think the word "need", is an Americanisim meaning "I want", I dont think its used in its original English term for the word.

I mean, how many things have you come across these days which are described as"cool", I still want to laugh when I hear it used, its about hi jacking words, that come across as stupid, on this side of the pond.

Take Currys/PC World for example, if attempting to access the Currys website you were put in a 'queue' but could get straight in and buy exactly the same stuff from the same place by using the PC World url.

I got a couple of real bargains online - not sure if they are Black Friday deals or not, but they were cheap (one stunningly so); for years, we have had remote control electric sockets to allow us to switch things on and off without having to go into the room - really handy when connected to the wee ones TV, as I can put the TV off and isolate it at bed time without the need to go upstairs and haul cables out. Anyway, through the week, I was looking for the wee remote to switch the TV off as per bedtime routine, and eventually found it --- in a glass of juice! I took it to bits, but it was properly fried, so that was game over really.

Looking for a replacement I had spotted a set on Amazon at £44.99 and thought to myself that I would look back at them on Friday (pay day) - come Friday, I looked at them again and they were down to £26.99 and free delivery :yay: delivered this afternoon, so barely had to wait.

Yesterday, I was listening to a few things on the laptop on my beloved Denon ADH-1100, and took them off to speak to Mrs C, and one of the earpiece hangers gave out completely; therehad been some hairline cracks a wee while ago, and I patched them up with some self-amalgamating tape, however the plastic was apparently so brittle (poor quality from day one in reality) that the hanger gave out in numerous places. I was bereft, as these headphone really do sound fantastic and were very comfortable. :cry3:

Anyway, I was at a loose end (never going to end well) so decided that I had best make a start on deciding on a replacement set; now, I am one of those sort of people that will normally look, and look and research and look and then eventually part with some brass, hence starting to look.

I checked Amazon and found a few pairs that I liked the look of, and went off to read reviews - one pair in particular were showing as being £99.00, down from £249.99. Can't be right, thinks I - the £99 will be the 'real' price and it will be one of those cases where the higher price has been charged in one shop, somewhere, once upon a time just so that the saving could be claimed.

After a read at What HiFi who reviewed them at £250, and then on to John Lewis website who had them in stock at £249.99, I deemed that I should faff about no longer and ordered them as a matter of urgency. Being frugal, I opted for the free supersaver delivery, so I won't see them for days yet, but what an absolute steal! So, I now sit awaiting the delivery of a nice new pair of AKG K550 High Performance, Closed Back, Reference headphones. Review to follow.

Black Friday--I avoid it. In fact, hate shopping. BA HUM Bug, it is Christmas soon. The craziness is coming. Can't wait until January, when all this is DONE.

Today's Cyber Monday and bargain hunters appear to be overloading the internet
