Hi. I've noticed lots of big black spots on some of our roses in our new house's garden..What should I do with them? Should I rip the affected leaves off (not sure how much rose I'll have left) or should I treat, if so with what??

Spoon feed me the info guys - it's all new to me!

I don't mind being patronised, I wanna learn! :flag:

I would spray with a proprietary Rose fungicide (it will probably have an insecticide built in too, and will not be suitable for treating vegetables).

I do mine every two weeks (I do as-close-as-I-remember to 1st and 15th of month)

You should remove the black spotted leaves and dispose of them (don't put on compost heap), and make sure they don't fall on the ground - pick up any leaves that fall off, particularly when you prune in autumn etc.)

Worth spraying the stems, and soil around the plant, if you have a bad infestation, and it will take quite a lot of Spraying Regime Religion to get it under control!)

Rose Fertiliser will help too - if you haven't fed them yet. I use Top Rose (granules you spread around base of each plant)
