Nothing, as far as I know, anyone with a male dog will tell you the bushes and hedges tend to get the dead spots.

It is the fact the female dog squats leads to a higher concentration in one spot. A male puppy, who still squats, has the same effect as a bitch.

My 15yr old male dog squats, zero dead patches…..its higher rates of nitrogen in female dogs that kill the grass by over feeding it

So why do female dogs have more nitrogen in their urine? Diets are similar in male and female, metabolism similar, the only difference should be hormones.

I think there will always be variations, I know that neutered Male dog's often squat.
Other factors are how wet the grass is, dry grass will burn but wet grass often grows stronger so if you water your grass in summer the chance are it will burn less.
Maybe the individual dog's diet affects it, there was a story going around that adding tomato sauce to the dog's food stops it.

Everything I have ever read says there is no difference between a dog and a bitch's urine.
@jowwy Perhaps your dog's kidneys are not functioning at 100% as that makes a difference as to how much Nitrogen is in their urine.
Dogs tend to do less in any one spot, even when they squat, as they prefer to do several small pees to mark their territory whereas a bitch just squats and empties her bladder.
