Blue bells

    Please confirm its legal to remove blue bells from my garden. I can see the leaves coming up from the ground

        I think that's the point ie you can remove them from your garden but not the wild unless they are Spanish. Some sites don't make this clear
        Im off to pull out some now

        If they are Spanish ones, take a spade. They send bulbs very deep.

          It's illegal to dig up anything if it isn't on your own property unless you have prior permission. I'd suggest you check which Bluebells you have and if they are native but you don't want them, then offer them to your local Woodland Trust or a similar environmental organisation.
          It's also a good idea not to take everything you read on the internet as gospel.

            They are mainly in an area thats considered to be a bed

            Im pretty sure that i checked online maybe on here and the advice is was given was that they were spanish. I dont wait under they flower but maybe its time to try some weedkiller

            No problem at all digging up/removing anything in your own garden, except trees that have preservation orders.
            Spanish bluebells - now's the time to get digging, as soon as you can see where they are. Go down deep and get the bulbs out as best you can. It's not a once-and-done job - there will most likely be a few escapees that'll come back next year.

            I've got blue bells in my garden and they rarely are a problem, in fact I'd like some to actually spread a bit.
            They disappear fairly soon after flowering, I find.
