    Only reaching around three-foot in height , the herbaceous Clematis heracleifolia is a stunning blue and flowers in August when some other plants are looking a bit tired .
    Available in several shades of blue ; 'Cassandra' and 'Wyevale'****are in my opinion , two of the best .

    **** Nothing at all to do with the Tesco owned Wyevale G/C chain .

      Here in Cornwall hibiscus grows well and fast. Given sunshine, good drainage and reasonable shelter my hibiscus flowers in mid to late August
