John, I don't understand what you mean [IMG] [IMG] (nod nod, wink, wink) but they do grow very easily from seed. If you can wait I can send you some seeds but they won't be ready until the end of February.

John, any half decent garden centre should be selling Sarcoccoca now. Also for semi shady/shady areas, Japanese Azaleas, Dwarf Rhododendrons Camellias and Hydrangeas.

Hey David. Smiley has offered me some free seed.......Ssssh. I'm a Yorkshireman and we don't rush anything if it's free. The others, I'm taking on board. Thank you again. :D :D

P.S. This is Scarborough. We don't have decent centers. We've got 2. One specialises in daffodils and the other in lupins. [IMG]

No, Paula, it`s a small shrub which usually grows to about 2 to 3 ft. John, there are two that spring to mind, Camellia japonica Lady Vinsittart, which has semi double white flowers and Camellia Sasanqua, which has fragrant, single white flowers.

Thanks once again David. We got a Lady Vansittart off eBay for £6 including shipping, better than I thought, so I may just have enough for my weekend pint left.

    Hi John

Just PM your address and I'll send the seeds when they're ready. Mrs shiney said that if any seedlings come up she will send them too.

Ive always found sarcococa better in pots, in a border it can get a little lost. Make sure you plant it at the front.

    How about some helibores?

    Thanks Shiney.

Seriously thanks to all for the suggestions. Keep them coming.

Those I haven't thanked individually it means that Mrs. Sarra hasn't been consulted yet.

We have a great working relationship. She looks at the suggestions and tells me what she would like. I then tell her what she can have. I pay for it, my heavy work guy then roughly prepares the bed if necessary (sorry, it's arthritis not not lazytitis) I clean the bed up and plant then Mrs Sarra tells me that it isn't what she wanted at all. Anyone know the feeling? ;) :D
