todays Sourdough loaf which is the best so far. It rose like Phoenix from the ashes! All the mixing and kneading was done in the Panasonic, then a final prove and straight into P1080365.jpg my Pyrex "mock Dutch oven " done at 230 C in the conventional oven. Cheap to make but costly to bake ....

@Jenny namaste were you using the same ingredients/measures as in the original recipe from the video or did you adjust it? I have my starter ready, again, and the weather has cooled enough that baking is back on my weekend activities and I'm anxious to try sour dough again. I've had several people give me recipes that work for them but somehow I just can't get the same results. I suspect it is my flour but am hopeful if I try enough different formulas, I will finally hit on one that works with my grain!

It sure looks great. Wish I could smell it :)

I almost don't want to cut it. I'll try some later today. I have a pot luck picnic with my girlfriends for lunch today and have dough going for beer buns to take as my contribution. One batch with chillies, the other plain. And I take along butter that I have formed into pats in silicone candy moulds so they look like flowers. They're frozen in the fridge so that by the time I get there, they will have nicely thawed and ready to spread :)

Today I made chilli buns with Shinybrid peppers :) 15667424143291500263221.jpg

And made gluten free pumpkin muffins and mini pizzas. Wrapped these two in individual packets I made out of waxed paper. :)

Do you keep the linings of cereal packets for jobs like these? I cut mine up in circles to cover jams and chutneys before sealing - to prevent mould or drying out .
The rolls look very interesting Lori,

No, I just buy a roll of waxed paper and wrap the way my Mum used to before plastic sandwich bags came along. I don't eat cereal. I have some in the house for when grandkids come for a sleepover.

I do cut rounds of the paper to press them on top of bowls of ice cream before putting them in the freezer. :)

A couple of questions for our bread makers here please.

Has anyone tried freezing the bread?

And has anyone tried making Rye bread?
