Buddleja renovation

I've lopped the front smaller section down to the usual 30cm, but was wondering if I can just start again with the trunks or are they too old and gnarly? Seem solid. They have growth coming up, so...

    Yep you can MAJ :)
    Cut those old and gnarly trunks to the ground. Now is a good time.
    You will see new shoots very quickly to produce a rejuvenated bush:)
