It's all on the up again but I still have the issue of the yellow patch at the back.
There used to be a hazel tree there that I ground the stump out.
I can only imagine the clippings in the ground as causing issues with the new seed as its really struggling in that one area.
I will cut it all tomorrow.
Do I use a cylinder and collect or a rotary and drop the mulch?

Collect the cuttings. Rotary unless you have a good quality cylinder.

Now the weather has returned to normal so has my lawn.
One small patch is still thin where the mushrooms are but that's where the old tree stump was so the chippings are rotting away.
Anyway I shall let the pics do the talking.

image.jpeg Winter is approaching and my garden is all set and ready to be used by the family next spring.
I'm very pleased with the whole thing and the experience has been fun with lots of hard work thrown in.
Goes to show with a little cash and a lot of man hours that you can turn a mess of a garden into something more useable and pretty.

Next year I will add a border to the left and put some nice plants in and maybe a hedge to the rear.

        Good idea.

What lawn mower are you using?

I have a qualcast 35s cylinder and a flymo rotary which I use.
Need to get myself a strimmer too.

Are you using your rotary at the moment?

          I alternate between the two.
Last cut was cylinder to push down the worm crusts.

Well the lawn survived the winter.
Some bits are slightly patchy but overall it's looking good but a little thin.
I will overseed the bare patches once the temps rise.

It still feels nice and flat under foot so I did well with levelling the soil before hand.

Had a vigorous mushroom patch at one point where i ground out the old stump but I guess that was nature removing the remains of it for me.

I need some Spring fertiliser, slow release ideally.
I don't want anything that covers moss as I have none and don't need a weed killer because I've been removing them by hand.
Any links to a good one please.

I would say that it's done well and for the minimal cost it looks good.
Just treated it with verdone then I'll fertilise again as its 6 weeks is up.
