Can we build our way out of a recession ... bbc news 10pm

    We need industry, and not service industries that just move money around, we need to make new money.
    I cant see anything changing until interest rates rise to a sensible level in order to bring in investment.

    The other thing that bothers me is the government keeps throwing money at the banks, bearing in mind its the banks that got us into this mess, (along with "no more boom and bust", Gordon)),does that seem like a good idea?

    We dont actually need more people in debt to the banks, that is if they should decide to lend it rather than pay themselves big bonuses.


    How about throwing that money at the construction industry, I'm sure they would make more use of it.
    Government contracts, rebuilding inner city slums right across the country.
