    I saw this plant in Parsonage Gardens, Didsbury, Manchester .It looked fantastic with large bright green veined leaves . Looked a useful plant for filling a big space but bet itsxa spreader!20200714_101943.jpg

      Hi @martyn bromley glad to know the Parsonage Garden is still there - it's nearly 40 years since I last went there! That is a begonia. They are normally tender plants, but there are now a few available that can winter outside.

        Begonia grandis (evansiana), deciduous and hardy to at least -7c, in my garden anyway, and seeds itself everywhere, it has nice pink flowers as well.

          Yep the one you gave me years ago has spread but it never becomes a problem.
