Ceanothus Hedge Frost Damage

    The garden we have inherited has a lovely 3ft ceanothus hedge surrounding a lawned area.

    However after escaping last winter's big freeze unscathed this time round all the leaves have turned brown and are now dropping off. Apart from the outer most growth most of the stems are still green and there seems to be buds coming on them.

    My question is will it make a full recovery or will too much damage have been done?:help:

    Welcome Bilbo675,

    There's every possibility it will grow new leaves. I would leave it alone until the autumn to see what recovery it makes. If by that time it's still not showing any life in those areas, I'd prune out the dead bits and see what happens next year. :)

    Thank s for that, just what I had planned really, got enough to do in the garden with trying to up-root a dead hedge ....:cry3::dbgrtmb:
