Chapelcross power station

    It was actually quite an emotional moment, and as we wove our way through the windy lanes, we came across half of the south west of Scotland, there to see the spectacle! Quite amazing.

    After much getting lost (where had that well-known landmark gone?!), we ended up several hours later right at the Chapelcross power station itself! There were lots more people - and one of the towers had stubbornly refused to come down!

    We stayed quite a while, during which time, a construction vehicle started the process of demolishing the remains - with really eerie sound effects - but we didn't see it fall.

    A day worth getting up early for!

    Did you go to see it Gogs - or just catch it on the news? There were cars and people everywhere, was wondering if anyone else from here was there!
