I tasted the 'fruit' of the cheese plant while on holiday in Madira. Nothing to write home about and we'd be home before the postcard anyway.:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

The bottom bit is usually the bit that is too big. I've not done it for a while though and it's getting a good size again. I have moved it to a space with more room and a bigger pot. Do you use one of those moss poles to let it climb up? Would be better than the carpet............:heehee:

Indeed :blue thumb: and in fact I did used to have a moss pole. Now its cut back to only half a dozen leaves (which are huge), rather than being a climber. Its new role is to be part of my "big leaf exotic garden" during the Summer, and to block the corridor during the Winter!

I'm going to get one of these again, not grown one since the 70s.
I'm sure I could get bigger leaves now, than I did then, without a conservatory.

I put a moss pole in with mine, albeit a little one, and it wasn't interested in it - however I suspect that may be because I didn't keep it damp enough.

Yeah, chop the ariel roots off, they contribute nothing. I'd have another in a minute but the house is way too small.

Thanks Daisees - I'll chop them off over the weekend.
