Brilliant. You can use them in pellet form or add them to a container of water and use them as a liquid feed. I tend to have a bucket (with lid) on the go most of the summer with a concentrated pellet water mix. I just add a cup of the liquid to a can and top up with fresh water...easy. [IMG]

How many pellets(roughly) to a ,say,5 ltr bucket of water? Never tried using them as a liquid feed.

Not an exact science really. I usually put a couple of handfuls in a bucket and keep topping it up. [IMG] leave it over night though to break down.

Very effective as a fertilizer, especially in gardens were ordinary manure is not practical, I tend to lightly fork them in to the soil rather than as a top dressing.

Haven't tried chicken pellets, sounds like they are worth a try.

Where do you get them - any garden centre?

Also read :"Chicken manure pellets deter cats from using your flowerbeds and also feed your plants. Sprinkle a few around and water them. Repeat every two weeks or so"

Most reasonable sized GC's do them in 5kg buckets IIRC. B&Q do them really cheap but I like the Rooster brand best. [IMG]

I have used chicken pellets for ages as they are cheap/cheerful, just remember it is very nitrogenous makes for sappy growth if used on its own.

Foxes like to dig about in the ground once they are applied, as they do with bonemeal.
But I've used them for a few years now, seem to work.
