Pepper seeds seem to age quickly compared to tomato seeds.

Some chilli plant pics. We have had maybe one day so far to get past 20c, they are not doing too well, at least the locotos seem to like it. Ring of fire is the next most advanced one, then aji limon. The rest are not really doing much fruiting. Also have got quite a bit of leaf curling, I assume from the various aphid attacks they have suffered. They are doing well @Hanglow considering the low temperatures up there.

I checked one of the locotos I put in the ground at the allotment and two chillis have almost turned red. Was quite surprised, its a bit shaded by some massive ornamental thistles and fox gloves. Also tasted a green ring of fire, bit lacking in flavour and a mild heat.

Picked them today, completely forgot to get some coriander and spring onions for a salsa while I was there.

                  Hello JWK,
Been very busy today in the chili greenhouse. We pumped out all the old nutrient water from the 3 Wilma systems and replaced with new solutions that included nutrients, Calmag and pH down. We then set the tanks mixing and tomorrow we can start to measure and fine-tune the food concentration and the pH.
Now to answer your question. There has been no re-occurence of leaf yellowing and the tell-tale brown marks that are a symptom of Calcium deficiency so I think the Calmag has done its job. I included more Calmag in todays mix as mentioned earlier in this message. I also ordered 2off 1litre bottles of Calmag as my 300ml bottle is now empty. Should be with me in a couple of days from Amazon.

When the chili greenhouse is fully setup again we can repeat the procedure in the Tomato greenhouse but touch-wood, it appears to be running smoothly with no problems but we will still have to do it before any problems do occur as the nutrient levels subside.

Oh, also turned on my fans as the sunshine was fairly hot today and is likely to continue for a while.

                  Regards

                  Ademission

All mine have been relegated outside for the time being because they have Spider Mites. They will stay outside during this current heat wave, might do them good:

This is the worst one, might be beyond help:

This is the damage they are doing:

                          Hello all,
We are starting to get a few red Chilis and Sweet Peppers so picking and freezing at the moment.

Sweet Red, Corno de Torro, Hungarian Hot Wax. I've got a good crop of Finger Chilis coming along but not quite ready yet. Tomatoes are now producing daily.

Had about 6 ripe locotos so far. Everything else is green. At least its warm enough to put them outside for three days

Heres some orange pepperoncini, aji limon and the first jalapenos forming

Mine have been outside for 10 days and are showing signs of recovery from the mite attack

There are new leaves forming and a few flower buds. All the old flower buds aborted and many lower leaves dropped off. It's a good thing they are in pots so they can be moved.

@JWK I found that Spinosad is THE best for getting rid of spider mites/aphids. I know you can't order it there but it might be a nice thing to have someone bring to you if they visit where it is not frowned on. I don't even know why it is not approved everywhere. It is not poisonous to the environment.

My plants aren't even flowering yet. Except for the Shiney ones. They are not starting to form pods. :)
