Hi John , a three gallon pot is quite a large pot , possible 12" at the top. For an idea of scale, your standard bucket holds 12 litres when full to the brim. Table is on link below showing diameter to volume.

          Good info there @HarryS :dbgrtmb:

I use 2 litre pots for the Shiney Hybrids and 3 litre pots for the Nagas. :)

Not bad :blue thumb:. Just under a week to germinate :hapydancsmil: How many of them have 'tailed' so far?

If you were able to come down to Shineyland and meet the GC gang you could go away with loads of Shiney plants :) It's a bit of a trek for you :noidea: as it usually takes me 3 hours to Scotch Corner.

I didn't count them. Will do so a little later. It's still pitch here and the kitchen floor is icy cold on the feet this time of day!

@Loki if I could travel over 3,000 miles to get to Shineyland and believe it merited the trip, a couple of three hours would be even more than worth your while :)

My chilis are coming along nicely.

Here, the pot at the top right contains three tomato seedlings. They're doing well.

                      upload_2019-3-22_17-55-2.jpeg

Especially this bad boy, which is a cayenne I think..

                      upload_2019-3-22_17-55-15.jpeg

And the most recent lot that I sowed in the second tray..

                      upload_2019-3-22_17-55-33.jpeg

What's the next step? How long can they stay in those small pots? Do they go into larger pots before going outside?

I also took some more tomato seedlings from one of the sprouters, and put them into a tray.

                      upload_2019-3-22_17-55-39.jpeg

If they don't survive, I shan't shed too many tears, as chilis are my main interest.

My Shiney Hybrids popped their tops and the first set of leaves broke free. Once they were standing on their own, I transferred them to soil blocks and now they seem to have stalled. I hope I didn't do the soil bit too soon!
