Sowed jalapeno telica, poblano, rokita today. I'm thinking I'll just stay with them as I looked at my hot pepper stash and I have have a huge number still frozen, dried and in hot sauce. Plus I have a few fairly hot ones still going from last year

We're still harvesting ours but the plants are now looking a bit sad.

Sown my chillies today: JalapeƱo, Cayenneta, Black Russian, Fiery Tongues and Tabasco. Also sweet peppers: Etuida and Gypsy

Edit: Hungarian Black (not Russian Black which is a tomato)

Sowed my 4 sweets: Corno Rosso (we will have to compare), sweet chocolate, napia and black knight. In airing cupboard.

My Bequinhos are showing wildly variant flowering but none are setting, apparently the chinense species struggles self pollinating without buggies. My other two odd peppers seemed to have given up after setting 1 and are very unhappy. Constantly limp. May just cull them for the space.

Gosh 6 days later and ive gotten 10 germinations. Heat really is the key.

Just checked and one pot of chilli seeds has germinated, these were saved seeds from either the fridge or freezer. None of the seed from named packets has appeared yet.

My germination from kitchen towel method was a bit patchy. About half we're showing sprouts, but I put out a tray of twenty of them onto a heat matt.

Now got germination of Jalapeno and a short fat chilli, probably from the freezer.

20240223_120958.jpg Truly rediculous flower density on one of my bequinhos... nothing setting still, even with intense fans on every morning. Perhaps they really need bugs. Ill try a cotton bud.

I've just sown Anaheim, Torro Rosso and Tepepo Rosso in the heated prop in the house, they will be greenhouse plants, way too cold/windy/wet usually in NE Scotland to grow outside. I have some Hungarian Hot Wax to sow later.

First time growing chillies/peppers. No idea what to expect!
Have gone over the top numbers wise, but have gone with; Padron, Zitava, Criola Cocina, Poblano, Habanada and Charleston (I'm hoping this is Tatli Biber, but couldn't find seeds under this name).

The first two have germinated and growing strongly in propagator - the final three have just been sown.
