I would not prune those, although I don't consider myself much of an expert on growing them. I'd be very happy if mine looked as strong healthy as yours @THFC

      Cheers both.
      Beginners luck no doubt.

      Will leave well alone then!

I agree they're fine plants and need no pruning.
They will probably need a small cane for support when they're laden with chillies :)

          Thanks Pete.
Plenty of canes lying around. Fingers crossed you are right :)

            Hello all,

The chillies in the grow tent are almost ready for moving into the greenhouse (I would guess they are about 1 week away). I photographed them as a contrast to my last posting.

They'll need extra warmth if they're in a a greenhouse.
They need nighttime temps of at least 12C just to survive

              They look great!

                Pete8,

I have mains in the greenhouse and at this time of year I usually put a temperature controlled heater in place to guarantee the temperature does not drop too low. I was unsure what to set the stat to (I normally use 15C) but it sounds as though I can go a little lower. The problem of course is that a 10 x 12 greenhouse costs quite a bit to heat though it won't be for much longer.

The leaves on the peppers are fairly dense due to the spectral quality of the light (Viparspectra 200w) which I wouldn't be without.

                Thanks for your comment.

                Best Regards

I'd keep it at 15C as a minimum.
They'll just survive at 12C but won't be happy.

                  Heating a 10x12 doesn't come cheap I'm sure!

My peppers, toms. and chillies are just a couple of ins. atm in a heated propagator in my unheated greenhouse.

I have similar mats and use an inkbird controller, and keep the temperature controller probe in the soil and set it to 15c minimum. I'm going to have to repot soon though, they seem to be growing well

Going to be May before I can put them out to the greenhouse, no power down the allotment unfortunately!

                      Hanglow,

I also use an Inkbird controller with a 1kw/2kw fan heater attached. I hang the probe in the centre of the greenhouse so that the air temperature is correct. I can monitor what's happening on my phone using the Inkbird app.

                        Hello all,

We've had a busy day cleaning the clay beads and transfering the Jalapenos into the greenhouse (8). Tomorrow we continue with the Lemon Drops (8). Finally the sweet peppers (8). I set up the greenhouse heater to come on when the temperature is below 15C.

Picture shows the Jalapenos in 11 litre pots.....

More pictures to follow when the others are in place in the greenhouse.

                        Regards

                            Hello all (again),

Remaining peppers now in place in the greenhouse.

On the back tank, Corno di Torro Rosso (2), King of the North (2), Romano (2) and California Wonder (2).

                            Middle tank, Lemon Drop (8).

                            Nearest tank, Large Jalapeno (8).

I checked the tomato seeds (Ziploc with paper towel) and they are starting to germinate so next job is to prepare the grow tent for them. That's a job for tomorrow or Sunday.

I planted out some more plants and potted on the rest. I'll keep those inside for a little bit longer as we're scheduled cooler temperatures again next week

Again so far behind. No seeds sown for chillies, peppers or cucumbers. Hopefully I will get my act together this weekend and get sowing...but probably a poor harvest as a result.
