I put some potatoes out to chit a couple of weeks ago in a sunny cool room in my house - they have hardly sprouted at all - should I wait until they grow longer or just plant them now?

What sort are they Elaine? If they are earlies then I would wait till the sprouts appear and are say 1/2 inch.

Although I like my seed spuds to sprout, I'm not as patient as them, they get planted when I want them planted......... it works!

    1st earlies in
    2nd earlies in
    Maincrop in

Just look out for late frosts and be prepared to fleece/cover if necessary.
