Christmas Cactus(again)

This is about Schlumbergera not me. I am not a Schlumbergera. Although Mrs Sarra says that,given my way I would live in a schlum (I think that's the word). And since working as Brad Pitt's stunt double, the studio won't let me do photos without payment. Cash please not cheques. :D

How do you even get at the contained below to polish it. Do you fed it - and if so what? I have never grown one.

 

Thanks Peter.........It spends the summer outside in it's plastic pot,which is inside the brass coal scuttle.........A little phostrogen,summer onwards.
My late mother gave me a cutting about 15 years ago.......
