Cleveland pear

    I noticed black dots under the leaves of my 4 year old Cleveland pear. Looks like insect and not disease. What is it and how do I get rid of it before it affects the whole tree??

    @Beeder Certainly does look like a good crop of Aphids you have there looks like a couple of different kinds too..

    Well I think if I were you I would try a spray of weak washing up liquid/dish soap solution mixed with a little Lavender oil in a spray bottle for now and it might help.. Then in the Autumn give your tree a "Winter Wash" for fruit trees ready for next year.. Any garden centre Amazon very easy to get hold of..

    Thank you! Are Aphids insects or a fungus of some sort? Just spray the dish soap/lavender mixture on the leaves?
