Hi all, I have joined this forum in hope to learn some most needed knowledge of gardening.
We have bought a Japanese acer (crimson princess) in hope to plant in a section we have cornered at bottom of garden. We are hoping to plant some shrubs along with it.... But have no idea what.
Could anyone give us some good advice what would look good & work. This section of garden only gets some sun in morning & mainly shaded.
    Thanks in advance.

A photo of the corner would be good to help us get the general idea. As Acers are rather delicate and precious I recommend something slow growing or very easily pruned as you don't want it overwhelming the acer. Euonymus, for example. Don't choose lilac, weigela, philadelphus or deutzia unless you are sure you are getting a very compact variety.

Also consider the leaf colour/texture/shape and choose something that will contrast with the acer. A bright/pale green if the acer is dark, or a plant with much smaller or larger leaves. Glossy/velvety leaves if the acer is matt, rounded leaves as acers are pointy.
