Duty of care for fellow forum users, as all this is in the public domain you can't be too careful.

I know this one is just about leaves but imagine if we were discussing something more serious.

Wouldn't leaves covered in moo poo be perfect for compost?

I for one am enjoying this conversation. Thank you to everyone that's contributed.

I believe in working within the law. As a city council licence holder I am very conscious of how I present myself.

I have sent a message to someone on the parish council. They may or may not reply. The leaves might even have all blown away by then.

If I get a big enough gap in my day I might just be brave and go for it.

Next year I'll try to remember to collect the leaves from the footpaths outside my house from the start.

Just go collect the leaves but take a stiff brush with you for any paths you clear to properly tidy up, you get your leaves and leave a tidy path behind you for 5 mins brushing.

People will actually thank you for it!

I was out last week collecting leaves and I cleared one patch then brushed up, a resident returned from shopping and commented how tidy it was. I told her what I was doing with the leaves and she told me her back garden was full of them, would I like them?

15 mins later, 3 bags full of leaves and a steaming cuppa and slice of cake in my hand !

                    Steve...:)

I think I can postpone the road sweeping idea for now. I managed to collect one bag full from my garden. By the time my tree has finished shedding I might get one or two more.
