Our relaxation of lockdown starts tomorrow. We can socialise is groups of less than 10 people, stores with doors open to the street up to 200m2 (capacity of 5 people per 100m2); hairdressers, manicures and similar (by appointment); bookstores and automobile-related trade; In the area of culture, opening of libraries.

This will be for 14 days, if all goes well more will open on the 18th ... restaurants & cafes at 50% capacity, theatres etc. Another 14 days and more regulations will relax.

We could be getting back to a new normal by June but I will be keeping my distance whenever possible. Besides, I like my home and garden.

On line dental appointments, wondering why we haven't thought of those before.
Would be so less painful.

Donald Trump goes on a fact-finding visit to Israel. While he is on a
tour of Jerusalem he suffers a heart attack and dies. The undertaker
tells the American diplomats accompanying him:

"You can have him shipped home for $50,000, or you can bury him here,
in the Holy Land, for just $100.”

The American diplomats go into a corner to discuss for a few minutes.
They return with their answer to the undertaker and tell him they want
          Donald Trump shipped home.

The undertaker is puzzled and asks,

"Why would you spend $50,000 to ship him home, when it would be
wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only $100?”

          The American diplomat's reply,

"Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he
rose from the dead. We just can't take that risk.”

Just been listening to the trial of the mobile phone app.
Apparently you get the app and then if you think you have symptoms you tell the app, it then warns everybody you have been close to recently and they have to self isolate.

I wonder if then they have to tell the app that they are self isolating so everyone they have been in contact with then has to self isolate?

Sounds like one hypochondriac could get us back to where we are now in just a couple of days. ;)

I wonder if some of us talk in our sleep?I understand that such is a kind of carry over of ones daily problems. Possibly other chaps have has similar expeiences. In the past I put my experiences to work, earning a few bo on the side, doing car and mechanical repairs.

I recall one particular job. I just couldn't sort it. That night I slept well and dreamed the whole episode through. Next morning I rushed out of bed, threw my overalls on over my PJ's. Recalling my dream and triumphantly went in for breakfast. All done.

So, why do I mention this. Even here on GC forums, many of us have contributed our thoughts and feelings relating to this devastating virus. So what does the future hold for us. I have tried to be fair with my comments, saying that we are learning as we go along. Well I caught a bit of the BBC TV News today. An elderly couple were interviewed and they stated that they had recieved now't from their GP relating their vulnerbility. OK. Neither did I or my daughter Amanda. Apart from the informant sent out by the PM. Zilch.

The other morning I had a phone call from the National Office of whatever. The chap had all my details so obviously not a scam. He asked, had I had a letter. NO. Well just to reassure you. Mr A. You are very vulnerable. and so is your daughter. Thank you...Goody doody gumdrops. Amanda and I log into tesco.co and sainsbury's each night. 'Choose a slot. There are no slots. How do the supermarkets know who are vulnerable custommers?. So looking forward. If and when distancing etc and the lifting of the shutdown ends. I wonder just how our minds might be balanced. Might we end up, miststrusting others, we, going about looking over our shoulder. For thos who vote. Might your politcal ideals now be under the microscope.

Just to answer that question. I don't think that the pandemic will change my voting views. Whichever party would be in power would be facing the same unknowns and I don't think the pandemic has changed my view on the competence of the parties or their 'leaders'.

To answer that question. I don't think it matters much to me as I would be ignored just as much as anything else I say when I'm awake. :heehee:

The supermarkets were all sent a list of the 'extremely' vulnerable people by the government. @Mike Allen you need to check on Gov.uk and register yourself if they have your details wrong.

There is a helpful article on moneysavingexpert.co.uk (Martin Lewis' website)

This might explain why there is usually a home delivery slot for delivery to Mum - whilst there is diddly squat available for here.

Ended up buying two lots of shopping and having it all delivered to Mums - so I can pick up half for here.

If you can register at Asda. A delivery or a click and collect can be booked at 10pm each night, for two weeks after that date. I.e. if you went on site at 10pm Sat 2nd May you could hopefully get a slot for Sunday the 17th.
You can book any day but talking to the delivery guy, Sunday is the quietest day. You will need to keep logging on as, site is very busy at slot booking time.

Still lots of waffle about track test and trace.
Assuming we will all be back at work by the time this gets going.
No hint as to, if you are told to self isolate for 14 days because it says you have been close to someone with CV, will you then go back on the furlough scheme, 80% wages, or SSP and £90 a week.

I see that the massive Nightingale hospital in London has hardly been used and is about to be mothballed.

Thank God for that - let's hope that the next we hear is that it's being dismantled.

Many thanks John and other members for your help and advice. As I have often said in my comments. This is all new to us. We are all learning as we go, so perhaps we can each and eveyone try an remain patient.

I have looked at the Gov.uk site and it seems, I am not so vulnerable etc but how come a few days ago, I had a phone call from the office of whatever. The chap knew so much about me, and assured me I was very vulnerable. Never mind, Amanda has been keeping an eye on me and to be honest. We haven't gone short. On all my medical docs stc. Amanda is down as my PA. Keeps her happy.

Today I recieved a letter from Guys hospital. Due to this pandemic. Some non urgent appoinments are to be dealt with via telepone and or video. Fair do's I'd much rather stay away from hospitals etc, but my Urologist. Mr Raydash Nair is such a wonderful pleasant chap.. Reall he is the type you want to hug. Look him up on the net.

Today all this vidio conferencing etc.. I can see this becoming the future. Thinkin back to childhood days. YES, Mike was once a child. Those comic strips. Talking to ones wristwatch and later to interacting with the TV. Have we actually now reached this state?

Thanks for puting up with me. I do have my serious moments. Bless you all.
