Often both at the same time (especially if you are a Spurs fan, like me.)

I have to be honest and admit. This Covid-19 virus has baffled me. Perhaps firstly. The powers to be, are the ones who are IMO doing their best to bring about some form of protection for you and me, and ours.
Obviously to take away, restrict or otherwise stop one from doing their own thing, is, of course going to get backs up. I hold no political favor, but I do think. Andy Burman is engaging here in a political stand off. I fear he is accepting this as a kind of political platform. He is placing, money and materialism over and above human lives. I dread to think of the outcome, should there be a great loss of human life in his area, laid at his feet.

We need to remember. It's not just us Brits involved here. At times it seems the government has closed its ears to the scientists etc. I am trying to vizulise just how this virus works.

We are told that the virus likes, breeds indoors. So the order is. Stay in doors. What then happens to the virus? Oh there are so many questions I'd like to ask.

To be honest, I know it's a Human trait to complicate things by bringing in politics but, like in America, making COVID 19 political leads to disaster so whether Labour was in Government or Liberals or even Screaming Lord Sutch it would have made no difference.
Nobody, no government, or any Scientists knew at the beginning what COVID 19 really was or what to do about it. But, now we have lots of Politicians, Mayors, Council Leaders who are driven by the age old tribal political urges to show how cruel, inconsistent, incompetent, unfair these restrictions are just to show what great leaders they are and be in the Limelight. All that is happening, like in the USA, is more confusion, resistance, muddying of waters and pointing of fingers at anyone but themselves.
My point is, I guess, that whatever your political colour it doesn't matter, but people think it does, and so instead of recognising that we're all in this together we throw our hands in the air, and stick our heads in the sand, by saying something like..........

        #
If we were to let the Leaders, of whatever "religion", get on with the job of having to deal with the situation day by day and doing the only thing possible....having to change the rules and restrictions every day to keep the infections down while having to deal with the folks we seem to forget a lot and mention little i.e. those who won't obey the restrictions and basically don't care about anyone but themselves.
Possibly, it's more exciting and satisfying to blame the people making the rules and restrictions and also have to change them near enough daily rather than admit it's probably some one we know is spreading the infection and. possibly, killing someone else you know.
The solution to the problem is simple, us, you, me, and the guy down the road...we're the solution by just obeying the basic rules when it started, at the beginning, and now, but instead some people thought the rules weren't meant for them.........will that change:scratch::dunno:........probably not likely.

Staying at home and not mixing with other Households will stop people getting infected, if they're not infected already. But Humans can't live like that and so if we used a bit of common sense, caution and followed the basic rules we wouldn't be where we are now.:wallbanging:

I have been thinking exactly the same thing @Mike Allen but you have phrased it better than I could. He could well be sued in the future by the families of Covid victims. A similar thing is happening in France right now, political leaders are being formally investigated by the police for the mistakes they allegedly made, their homes have been raided. I can see the same thing happening here for years to come.

Andy Burnham would be ok with it if the whole country was doing the same as they want to impose on Manchester, he would have to because that is pretty much what Starmer wants.

So its kind of "don't make an example out of us" thing.

May 1962 was the last time they were in service. Interestingly enough the first and last ran out of the garage that my office is based within.

Nah, we are too soft in this country - Tony Blair should have been done for war crimes a long time ago, but never was and I still think he was involved in Dr David Kelly's demise too.

I also had a ride on one of the last trams in London in 1952. They sold special tickets for the Last Tram Week. I also had a ride on the last tram through the Kingsway Tunnel.

After my stint driving an East Kent Bus, I went into Caring/Nursing, and yes we all used to have lots of laughs.

One of the many laughs was a lovely lady called Molly, now, she would go weeks without having a poo, one day Molly done a Poo in her Commode, this was over 12 ins long, too long to go down the Loo without breaking it up...........So I decided to wrap this in newspaper, I also decided to go around and show the girls at the Nursing Home, did make them scream:biggrin:
