      My undersanding is that we can still catch it - we then either kill it outright with no symptoms or if we don't kill the virus - bash the heck out of it so that we only have symptoms that do not require hospitalisation. I read an article about the Astra Zeneca vaccine - it said that no one died who had had the vaccine. I assume the same applies to the other vaccines as well.

      Covax needs to look closely at what's going on in Brazil.

        I've just had to pick myself up off the floor. Israel have vaccinated 99 out of every 100 people - that's impressive.

          It's really only a small country, clanless, and if you read between the lines they are having the same problems as other countries where Religious groups like the extreme Orthodox and others are refusing to take the vaccine,

                        The Isle of Man is in full lockdown with numbers spiralling at the moment due to the Kent strain of Covid. The population of the island is currently 86000.

                          I've just finished some Zooms with family in countries around the world.

                          The ones in Oz say they, in their State, have no restrictions and no cases. They are not bothered much about the EU countries not allowing AstraZenica to send them the vaccine they had ordered well in advance as they have now started making it themselves.

                          In Israel they lifted all restrictions today but still have quite a few people who haven't been vaccinated because they haven't come forward. So the government are now offering incentives - vouchers and money :rolleyespink:. A lot of places won't allow you in without your 'vaccination green card' (either hard copy or electronic). They have sufficient vaccine available for everyone because they bought it before other countries had made the decision on whether they wanted it or not.

                              Does anyone think this current lockdown is actually a lockdown at all?

                              When we had the foot and mouth outbreak, Cumbria was one of the hardest hit counties. Tourism in the county was hit hard, my sales fell off a cliff, hardly anyone came to the nurseries with many of our trade customers cancelling their orders of compost. When we had the shooting massacre back in June 2010, the locals were shell shocked with the local town being quieter for weeks. Now it just seems like business as usual where I live with the amount of people out and about.

                                You'll have to come back to Scotland for it FC. I had my first Astra Zeneca jab three weeks ago against my better judgment, but was talked into it and suffered for a week and a half - my body doesn't like anything alien. Mr S had his at the same time and had a mild reaction.

                                Most people are taking notice of it here in Scotland @gks. Nurseries and garden centres are closed here.
