We're being told that mixing "like" types is an even stronger anti body builder. I don't know if I've ever been exposed to covid and my body already dealth with it because if I did somehow catch it, I would have been asymptomatic.

I've never had measles, mumps, chicken pox, rubella, none of the usual childhood delights and I had not been innoculated.

I've heard that mixing vaccine was at some point likely to happen over here but I still think they are looking into it.
Things may be slightly different here as the most common vaccine is, I believe, the AZ one, and I think it possibly works in a different way to Pfizer or Moderna.

We are quiet now, probably more quieter than we would normally be. We are not imposing a face mask policy, we have put the onus on the customer. The vast majority are still wearing masks, which I will remain to do so when out shopping.

            From the beeb:

The number of new infections by date reported has fallen for five days in a row for the first time since February.

Thanks to the herculean efforts of the NHS. It looks like BoJo's 'gamble' is paying off. Nowhere to hide.

I am normally the hopelessly optimistic one on this thread but I can see the infection rate starting to climb again. There will be a lag before the lifting of restrictions kicks in, I reckon in a week it will begin to soar.

The virus was rife in our local schools just prior to them breaking up last week for the summer. Some 90 or so isolating following the Euro final where many kids were allowed to mix. We had to be tested after I picked up my granddaughter and only afterwards found out many of her classmates were positive.

Most people isolating so not going out for the tests  PING, was it last week 1 million people got PING-ed
Gov said there will be no more lock downs, so pinged people are now in isolation, just another way of a lockdown

I think I said some where along the way that most of us are going to have to get this before we can even think of living with it.

I still believe that, it's not going to go away.

I thought the ONS random sampling surveys were still indicating increasing levels of infections.

Could many people now be not bothering getting test results that get reported, just like they're not bothering with all sorts of other stuff?

I think you have hit the nail on the head.
All these infections are only based on testing, they cant be based on anything else, and have been all along.
So why bother getting tested, just stay at home.
The thing was it was all about people getting really ill, do we really care how many people catch flu or a cold each winter?

The only figure they should now be reporting is hospitalisations, if the bloke down the road has a cough or is asymptomatic does it really matter, if he is not a hospital case.

It has to be ridden out in order to get back to normal.

I see certain countries having real problems in the future with covid as they have isolated themselves from it, and I dont think you can get away with that approach.

It's "head in the sand time". With the holiday season many people have switched off the app so they don't get pinged and won't get tested even with symptoms, they have waited over a year for a family holiday.

In Cumbria, all but one of the LFT testing sites has now been closed. They are either, ordering home testing kits or not bothering to get tested at all.
