How do you know it's Omicron? Our next door neighbour's son has Covid but were not told which variant. Covid is rife in the schools around here but none of the children we know show symptoms or feel poorly, it's been picked up by the regular testing.

That's a bit pessimistic, Jenny? My friend's father is 87, hasn't been in the best of health for the 13 years that I've known them and recently tested positive, as did my friend. They both lost their sense of smell and taste, had sore throats for a couple of days and didn't feel very energetic for a week. But that was that. They're both vaccinated, so I suspect that their existing antibodies coupled with a milder variant let them off more lightly. We've lived with 'flu for all these years and I'm sure we'll adapt to living with Covid. Look on the bright side....you're not living in a country where kissing everyone all the time is the norm!

Good afternoon @Jenny namaste the virus is not winning its just a dropped stitch in life's tapestry ,we have come along way with vaccines and our knowledge about the virus grows every day, and its that knowledge will give us the answer,we all knew that it wouldn't be eradicated but it will get weaker in the sense that our immune system's will eventually defeat it as it has done many times in the past ,yes its difficult but at least there no air raid sirens going off at 2am in the morning and we don't have to run down to the air raid shelters ,I'll get off my soap box now:old: and get my coat but I will still have a smile on my face:heehee:

                  From the beeb:

It is not clear if those people who are in hospital with Omicron are there because of the virus or for other reasons.

Yes, it is clear Aunty Beeb - the vast majority of patients with Omicron in South Africa are there for reasons not related to Omicron.

Sensationalise it as much as you want - the world can see for itself what's happening.

Now, let's get back to disinformation about Brexit shall we?:rolleyespink:

                    Is it though?

How many people have died from Omnicon variety, globally?

Get ready for Boris to wipe out Christmas some time week after next.
                    I'd never be surprised.

I think what the virus has shown is how badly the NHS has been performing for years.
Yes we have a waiting list of 6 million is it?
But we had a massive waiting list before this lot started, much more than they were stating.

My experience of the system is they avoid putting you into the "waiting list" figures by cleverly making you wait months for triage appointments followed by months of physio that is not going to work, but stalls the process.
You then manage to get an appointment to see a consultant in the dim and distant future, after which you finally get put onto the "waiting list".

That is because he has essentially terrified the life out of people and said the only way is to get a third jab. Not one person, globally, has died from Omnicon. Not one.

                      Boris Johnson sponsored by Pfizer.
