I was lucky then. When I was 6 I had been out playing with a little friend and she came down with yellow fever so I had to get the shot. No side effects whatsoever. :phew:

I really wish they would make all of the vaccines for inhalation. I really don't like getting a jab in the muscle. It's hard to pick up an axe with sore muscles!

Ask them to do it in your bum cheek (and for once, I am not joking)

I get my prolia shot in my tummy which is much better. And unfortunately I don't have a 6 pack so vaccines can't go there as well.

What? In my back cheeks? They might hit my brains!

I think I've had the last of the "muscle" jabs anyway thank goodness.

Whatever people think of Djokovic it wouldn't make any difference, he could still infect others with or without the vaccine if he has covid.

I don't get it. How can they have natural immunity if they can catch it more than once?

They can still catch it, but their immune system recognises it and knows how to deal with it, therefore they get much less ill. Pretty similar to the principles behind most vaccines in fact. For example, each year I have the flu vaccine - that flu vaccine comprises a mixture of 'dead' flu strains that scientists and medics believe are going to appear that year. There is just enough of each type of flu in that vaccine to trigger a response from my immune system - usually this is not a big response, but this is why I can feel grotty for a week or so after having it. This 'teaches' my immune system how to deal with that particular strain of flu. It does not stop me getting flu (as was proven just after Christmas past) nor does it stop me passing it on - what it does do is hopefully prevent me becoming just quite as ill as I would without the vaccine. There is zero guarantee of this however and it only potentially protects me - nobody else, as I can still get it and still pass it on.

Whether folks will admit it or not, flu is deadly and as covid variants have changed since the start of the pandemic, covid and flu are pretty much on a par in terms of how deadly they are. They are both much more deadly for the likes of you and I than they are for folks like my daughter for example - a simple fact of getting older or having health conditions means that if you catch these things you could be in trouble.

I'm surprised they don't break more needles than they do, not so much in the arm but when they stick it in the top of the bottle.
The way some of them I have seen on TV are doing it at strange angles and the needle has to bend.

That's a good attitude Shiney, it somehow took me around 40 years to work out that enjoyment of life and personal friendships are far more important than being right in an argument! :heehee: I very vividly remember almost completely falling out with a good friend over politics, then having a powerful moment of self-awareness and thinking "This is an insane behaviour that I'm engaging in, I have so much to lose and so little to gain by 'winning' this argument!"

The needle broke because of my hard butt :rolleyespink: but now you mention the bending needle in the bootles i can see that it may have happen to me, the worst bit is they had to give me pain releaf to cut my butt open to get it and me being me i have to have lots of pain releaf because it don't work on me, that's why i don't go the doc's, dentist and hospitles because they won't give me 4x's the pain releaf first it's starts with that amount then add another lot then another lot, i come out with lots of holes in my skin

I sympathise @Jiffy as I had two needles broken in my arm as a child. Needless to say, I now have a needle phobia!
