Our mask mandate just got lifted this past Monday. We went to the store, about 1/2 were maskless. I am almost 70. I am not sure if I am comfortable just yet. I kind of feel guilty if I don't.....been a long 2 years.

Ours hasn't lifted yet for indoor spaces like cinemas, shopping malls (except restaurants which I find odd) but they MAY lift it early April.

It would be odd eating in a restaurant with a mask on :-)

Yes, I agree. ;) We did have to have them on except when eating or drinking. Even for going to the bar from outside or the loo. Personally, I prefer outside any day even without the virus about so won't go out in inclement weather.

I certainly will still wear a mask to the shops, at my clubs and in meetings. I don't find it bothers me at all and got used to them years ago when travelling to the far East where lots of people wore them. I'm happy to have some sort of protection when near people that cough, sneeze and splutter. Especially those that don't cover their mouth or nose when doing so.

Here in Scotland mask-wearing is still mandatory. I will continue to wear one even after the restrictions are lifted. I cannot see myself ever going to a bar, restaurant, cinema or theatre again. Masks or no masks.

I don't go to bars or cinemas anyway but we do go to restaurants. The ones we go to either have a covered outside area or we go when they are not busy. Our regular restaurant is never busy on a Sunday evening so that is when we go. The owner lets us know if he has had a booking that will be noisy as I don't like noise - also the reason for not going to the cinema.

                    About time Mark:

From Monday you will no longer need to wear masks in shops or on public transport but they will still be needed in health and social care settings. The legal requirement to self-isolate is being scrapped and instead people will be asked to stay inside if they test positive but it is no longer going to be the law.

Businesses will still be asked to complete risk assessments.

We on the other hand have mandatory use of a mask in public indoor spaces, health services and transport until 18 April.

I suspect that Nicola will get rid of all restrictions at the beginning of April - I don't think that she has much choice - it's not that she can stop people crossing the border into Scotland.

Contrary to the doom mongering of the media - every infection is the same as a booster vaccine - so higher levels of infection is not necessarily a bad thing. The protection given by vaccination weakens as time goes on - the longer people avoid Covid - the less resistance they will have when they do eventually get it.

I continue to wear a mask most times when I go to our local supermarket or shops in town or to church on a Sunday.

My wife & I have avoided catching cold, flu or Covid-19 for the last two years! Part of the reason for this must surely be wearing a mask. My wife hardly goes out of the house but I go out several times a week but even so I haven't caught anything.

No, but people who do cross into Scotland have to follow the law in Scotland irrespective of what is the case in England.

I've only worn a mask when forced to, as most of you probably know.
I've only recently stopped using supermarkets, for other reasons than covid, and I've not had it "Yet", I assume I will get it one day.

I still maintain, you catch it from your nearest a dearest, and not from strangers, in the main.
Had I still been working I may have caught it there due to having to be close to others for extended periods, but I think the mask thing is mostly hype and part of the brainwashing exercise we were all exposed to.:stirpot:

Having said that I have no problem with anyone who still wants to wear a mask, it should be your own decision.
