The picnic area goes from where I marked the tree/shrub area up and around the corner. There are lovely log benches under trees facing the lakes .. I must take pictures next time. The Portuguese love their picnics and you find areas, often with BBQ facilities dotted all around the mountains.

I'm debating whether to put my forthcoming trip to the West Coast here or start another thread ... perhaps another called Castles in the Air!

 

Has it really been a year since I posted here ???? Guess I've spent too much time on the beach in Algarvean Daze, which we have done this past week with our American visitors as she is a beach freak. However, we did 'force' her into the mountains one day to Caldas de Monchique which has been a spa for at least 2,000 years. It sits in a well-wooded little ravine which resounds in early summer to the song of nightingales.

My paintings are currently on display at Restaurant Rouxinol (Restaurant of the Nightingales) in Caldas.

Thank you rosa and Robert ... it is really heaven up there (about 30-40 minutes from us) ... we spend a lot of time in the mountains in the summer when it is hot.

The bathroom walls look like they were designed by someone who had just 'smoked something' and had an idea.:D

 

I know I'm fussy, strongy, but what do you expect with a 1,5 million Euro house in such a location with rates of 410 Euros a year for goodness sake .... ????? I have to shell out 8 (yes, that's eight) Euros a year for my rates on my 'pokey' house ... :hehe:

 

That's nearly £8, but you are fuming.:D
I bet someone will buy it.
