I just think that there must be thousands of people in similar situations but they just get on with it and manage the best they can.

what a busy life...I feel already tired just by reading the article ...:phew:
That "New Statesman" looks like an interesting newspaper. Of course, if one has access to detailed truthful information and has time to investigate, there can be many different outcomes to this story.
It is all good: building wealth, if the margins are good enough to justify the time, the effort and the stress (and the occasional tip that the delegates help themselves to :th scifD36: ). Unless you are very passionate about what you do and you don't mind about the profit.

I did some gardening on Monday.:biggrin:I cut right down to ground level and Berberis shrub that the landscapers put into our back garden 13 years ago and which had grown quiet huge and was making my spirea shrub bow down as the poor thing couldnt get enough light and as the Berberis was spiney I decided it had to go so in the end I filled my empty wheeliey bin to the brim with branches and spines plus also filled two black buckets so all that is left for Mr Kandy to do is either get the roots out by digging or he can use stump killer on it:snork: All we have to do now is stake the spirea in a standing position now that it can get more light to its head:snork:

I also cut back some of my pyracantha branches on the back fence plus threaded some of the wayward branches under the wires so that they will grow and continue to hide the fence:biggrin:

I think it is nice to discuss different subjects as it gets boring if all we talked about all day and night on here is gardening:snork:

Anyone that isn't interested in reading the posts and links can carry on with what they were doing and let those of us that want to read and discuss do so.

This is only my personal opinion and don't want to offend or fall out with anyone over the article. By the way did the couple say how much the Daily Wail paid them for the article as I have a little story they might be interested in...if the price is right and after all every little helps:snork:

I was. This morning doing invoices for customers to ignore and this afternoon out in the cold looking at an old Merc that has just been dragged out of a barn.
