CRAB APPLES

    my crab apple tree is covered in fruit as usual at this time of year but has suddenly produced blossom on one of its branches !!!why ???

    Ive got a couple of crab apples too and they both do this as well. I dont know why they do it but it hasnt done them any harm so far so fingers crossed it isnt a big prob. I will be interested to hear why they do it if anyone knows though.

    I dont know why they do this late flowering sometimes but I've got a theory it might have something to do with drought, followed by a wet spell later on.
    The tree goes more or less dormant in the dry, and then starts to grow again in the wet.
