Hi all, i recently purchased a Crassula Ovata Gollum at a local DIY store, which were selling them off for a £1  £1.
When i got it home, looking over the plant, i noticed it was actually 3 separate plants, which i didn't mind at all.
What i'd like to know, would i be better separating them, and grow each plant in it's own pot, or leave them as they are :dunno:
My intentions are to make a sort of Bonsai out of them :ideaIPB:image_67509505.JPGimage_67212033.JPG

I always tend to like one plant per pot.
I think they always do this to make a more impressive looking plant faster.

Thanks Pete, you've made my mind up, i'll separate them, hopefully i'll get thicker stem's in their own pots :)

You could leave them alone for now if you like but they will have to be separated in time. As @pete said they are sold like that to make a bigger looking plant.

They look extremely close together and you might struggle to get equal amounts of roots with each plant when separating considering their size. Personally I would wait until Spring at the beginning of the growing season rather than at the end.

Yes, spring is the best time to separate them. Gollum roots easily from cuttings so it doesn't matter if the roots get a bit of a harsh treatment when pulling apart.

It would be nice to see it flowering, mine never have even though they grow well. A fun plant definitely. :)
