    Hi JWK, Marketmore. Yeah have some of the Tomorite. Shall I feed the Cucumber one also as that has three mini cucumbers on.

    As I recall Marketmore is an outdoor ridge type so in the absence of insects you need to hand pollinate. You can use a small pint brush but it's simpler as follows: remove a male flower and pull off the petals, gently rub the middle part 'stamen/anthers' on the female flowers (female flowers have a tiny embryonic cucumber behind the flower). One male flower will 'do' three or four females.

    I would limit the number of fruit forming to begin with. Remove all but one females whilst the plant is small. If the plant tries to produce too many fruit to begin with it can't cope, and the effort will exhaust it. It can take weeks for the plant to recover and fruit again.

    Feed now with Tomorite as well :dbgrtmb:

      I'm getting quite a few Sweet Peppers and Cucumbers forming now. Is there anything you have to do with these plants at all as I had a lot of problems with my first Cucumber plant if anyone remembers thank you.

      Peppers just treat the same as your Tomatoes.
      Cucumbers are a different prospect they can just keel over, usually stem rot at the base for this reason they are sometimes grown on a mound. I grow mine in a square tub about 30 litres so I sink a couple of small plant pots and water/feed into these to keep the water away from the stem. Cuc's reputedly like a humid atmosphere, I do not do anything to provide this just make sure I plant them away from the door or vent. I feed with same feed as tomatoes. Hope this helps

        What a fantastic idea with the small pots. My Cucumber plant is in the far corner of greenhouse so well away from the door. Your Cucumber looks fantastic. Hopefully I get something without it dying like the first one did. Can't wait to see more of what you are growing and thank you for all your advice.

        I've been told if you remove the first open flower on a Bell Pepper Plant it gives you more flowers. Is this true ?

        I have tried all so called idea's removing first flower from peppers , first truss of tomatoes among other things, never found it to work only resulted in lost crops. Peppers produce an abundance of flowers you just need to make sure they are pollinated or they will just drop off. However you have to keep picking the fruits as they ripen or the plant will stop producing flowers

        Thanks for the info sandymac. I'll have to prob pollinate with a brush as not getting bees in even though I've got 2 nests lol
