    Cy is looking grand after the heat ... but Jim found a pup he said and what should he do with it. Cut it off like his Yukkas?

      It does look like pups.
      You can cut them off if you want just a single trunk.
      It could lose its character if they are allowed to form.

      If it was growing in the ground I'd probably leave them at least for a while but in the pot the single trunk looks better.
      Must be pretty old now I would think?

        This is the first photo I have when I got him in June 2007 still in his bucket. How old would he be then?

        Possible 7 to 10yrs in the UK from seed would be my guess.

        Probably a bit faster with ideal growing conditions.

          I grew mine from seed in the early '80's but it hasn't done this year and I don't expect it will now. Luckily, I removed the pups over the years and grew them on so I do now at least have several new plants.
