I've noticed small seedlings growing in this pot with a Cyclamen coum and I don't know what I should do with them - should I separate them out into individual small pots, leave them alone, or repot the while thing as it is ? Advice will be greatly appreciated.

They're easy to separate and replant so it really depends on what you want to do with them. You may wish to leave a few in the pot and just end up with more flowers in there.

Cyclamen propagate very easily and spread like mad in our garden. They seem to be really tough and put up with any condition and treatment. If they weren't so pretty they would be a weed!

They have escaped from our Cyclamen bed (about 30ft x 20ft) and spread through the lawns and wild area and into other beds. They even find pretty nooks and crannies to hide in.

Thank you @shiney , I may repot them and plant the old corm in a tub with a recently repotted shrub, to give it some colour in the winter.
You are lucky to have your Cyclamen spread like that, they must look lovely every autumn. I don't think they like my soil because they don't spread at all.

We don't do anything to them at all and they just continue to spread. No feeding and just the occasional watering during drought

And have now spread to a bed 10ft away

Thanks for showing me your naturalised Cyclamen @shiney, they are a lovely sight. I hope one day mine will decide to spread a bit.

I planted a few that a mate gave me must be 30 years ago.
They have spread to most parts of the garden now and the allotment.
That is C.hederifolium ,the C.coum he gave me disappeared within a few years.

I think as little disturbance as possible is the key.

I shall try that @shiney

I'm glad your C hederifolium have spread @pete, pity the coum have not though. I have hederifolium in the garden although they just stay where they are, but never been successful with coum, except in pots.

Don't put much faith in Monty Donn but I think he said a couple of weeks ago that hederafolium will out do coum if you let it.
Coum is spring flowering, I believe, so maybe the seeds take longer to ripen come spring and hederafolium gets a head start on it.

I've never bothered to check whether ours are coum or hederafolium but suspect the second. They flower at least twice a year and sometimes three times. I suppose it's possible that we have both mixed together and therefore get the different blooming times. :noidea: We didn't plant them so have come in from elsewhere.

Oh noooo...don't tell me they spread. Mines in a nice little part of the allotment. I've already got my hands full with mint spreading everywhere...not my cyclamen too :wallbanging::biggrin:

Dont worry, they dont spread in the same was as mint.
Very easy to control if you dont want them.
