Oh so you use frozen onion rings as well as frozen chips?

I didn't know you could get them, I'll have to look out for them.

They do them in breadcrumbs or batter!

Yes, Pete, McCain's do frozen onion rings in batter or breadcrumbs .. we prefer the batter ones.

Oops, you popped up there Aaron .. yes, they do both ... :yez: You guys may be able to get store-brand ones but I can only get McCain's here ... and pay a premium but then again i's worth it for a treat. :yho: All stores here do their own frozen chips ... thick / thin / chunky / noisettes / hash browns / etc ... good selection and cheap and good quality.

We do Sainsbury's onion rings here Vicks...although recently, himself prefers to fry onions in garlic oil on the barbeque, with mushrooms that are almost as tasty and much cheaper to buy/prepare.

Hmmm ... but how long will t'other half be able to use that BBQ now Aaron ... Perhaps you should keep a bag of Sainsbury's in the freezer as back up ... :hehe:

He used it all last winter Vicks, except when the snow was 6inches deep on top of it!

Nothing like a full English cooked on a BBQ on a Sunday morning :)

Sorry Alice...well and truly drifted away from deep fat fryers! I can recommend a BBQ though!

It rains too much here in the winter Aaron so I need my deep fryer and indoor grill. It's really coming down now and the garden is just loving it having not seen any for four months .... :yho:

No problem about the BBQ Sussexgardener. I have an outside point on the terrace where a fryer could be used at a BBQ - if I could be persuaded of a use.

"Don't you love the smell of BBQ lighting fluid in the morning!"

With BBQs I don't mind the outdoor cooking, but I always want "mine" on a proper plate and be able to eat it at a table with a knife and fork away from the flies, this usually means going indoors.

You haven't been to my BBQ's Doghouse. Must do something about that. No mean affairs.

    Are yours "fly free" Alice?

I'd rather go out for a meal. Don't mind sitting in the garden afterwards with a few drinks.

We do that usually. Cook on grill outside, bring food inside, unless the weather is really warm. Our patio loses the sun after about 7pm in summer so unless it's been a scorcher, it can be cool sitting outside to eat at 8 or 9pm.

Couldn't find McCaine's so had to buy Morrisons.
They smelt like onions when cooking and the looked vaguely like rings of onion, but they tasted of absolutely nothing.

Really awful, not worth buying, ****.:(
