That (Deed of Separation?) used to be sufficient to enable payment of income based JSA because it would demonstrate separation from a partner's finances (Mrs Scrungee used to be insured by the FSA to give such advice, but that was many years ago before we decided to pursue alternative lifestyles). I trust you are seeking advice from CAB, etc., as their advice is impartial, up to date and extremely thorough (my wife has worked with them).

Still waiting to hear back from JSA people, wrote to them weeks ago, but they already have me down as separated & didn't ask to see the deed.

Have been looking at the CAB website yes Scrunge:thumbsup: A certain Jolly Tar Member has been helping out on that front, you know who you are:dbgrtmb:

Apart from 50/50 house sale and net profit after, then not worth the cost from lawyers, over a bloody tv and furniture, CD's or the Dog

Kids are a different matter but, they know who they are best ofF with and best to meet their wishes, If it was to go against you via Lawyers they would soon be back, even if it took a couple of years
It may be hard, but let it go as it goes

Really you could live well with a new life, and just a basic empty flat, rather than give lawyers 90% of your joint wealth cause that is how it will be
No matter how hard the deal go with it you WILL be better off

I think you are a mans man, and will survive without the CD collection, or the furniture, just buy what you need, second hand and build from there

The happiness and stress relief alone will invigorate you enough to go on

I am still with Julie after 40 years but we started with NOWT, we had an empty shell, furnished it from auction sales of deceased homes
Our hall and stairs carpet, was ex sample books, well 20p squares all the same, so we nailed them up the stairs and had a luxurious to us carpet
The rest of the rooms were done in a reject vinyl pretend parquet flooring, where the printing of the pattern had gone off line, so each section of wood had a grey border
We then got sent to Gibraltar for two years, so rented the house out,
In those days you only got a bank statement abroad every six months there was no rent payments in it,
Paid a lawyer, to visit the house and everything had gone, second hand furniture and all the flooring, no rent and no occupier
So eventually after eighteen months returned home and started again in the auction rooms
Julie is stronger than I, she lives her life by the POLLYANNA film
What is for you will not go by you

When she had an operation, she came out unable to walk again, I was very bitter, but she just said what is for you will not go bye you and seems quite happy with the situation £eity I could cry myself AND DO, NOT FOR ME BUT HER

Just move on Ziggy no matter half the house and nothing else is the way to go NO CONFRONTATION the kids WILL know what to do, even though it maybe hard, just do not argue Not worth it mate. other half will be thrown off guard

Sorry too much info, but I am honest

          Jack McH

:D Use some distraction therapy to make that look insignificant by comparison.

              If your history bar reads,

              Suicide
              Sex Change Operations
              Drug Councelling
              Sheep
              Mormonism
              Pubic Lice
              Gay Chat Rooms

Then she probably wont even scroll down as far as Divorce.

                All taken on board Jack:thumbsup:

As long as i've got the basics i'm happy.

We had a similar experience with our house. Think i've said before on here.

Like yourgoodself, we bought the house but only had £26 leftover so everything was done on a budget, built the kitchen from old furniture etc.

Took 4 years but eventually had the whole place kitted out nice.

Then had the tennant from hell, tricked my mate out of the keys & was in there without a tenancy agreement, almost impossible to get out, took a year and a half. She never paid the rent, never took any rubbish out in that time. What she hadn't burned on the fire was so discusting it was un useable.

Had the house done up to sell 3 times after that, each time it was burgled and stripped. The last time they had all the copper piping, wiring, hot water tank, radiators, even tried to take the stairs out.

Sold it at a massive loss as an empty shell.

So at 32, found ourselves living in housing association rented gaff.

Taken me 17 years to get back to this stage.

Handle the situation the straight forward way. Ask her why she's been on a divorce website. :heehee:
