I was visiting an old neighbour a few days ago,she has a chocolate labrador which is @12 yrs old and has Arthritis on his right rear leg. when i came into the house he approached me and
sniffed,as they usually do .i sat down and he came over to me and kept sniffing and rubbing with the side of his head on my left leg. i kept urging him away but he persisted in returning to my knee i began to feel uncomfortable ,as from an old injury my knee has been giving me a few problems for some time . QUESTION- HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS ,THIS DOG KNEW I HAD SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY LEG!!!.:rolleyespink:.

There is apparently scientific evidence that dogs can sniff various ailments. In one study, a room full of volunteers were introduced to a specially trained sniffer dog. About half of the volunteers had been diagnosed with cancer in the early stages. Half had no such diagnosis.

The dog correctly pointed out the cancer patients. The organisers of the study thought it to be a 100% success, until the dog focused in on one of the volunteers who had not been diagnosed with cancer. The dog persisted and the experiment was logged as being only a partial success, until the one 'all clear' person that the dog had focused on was tested a bit later, and found to have a tumour that they didn't previously know about.

In a very different story, and much closer to home, just over 3 years ago one of my dad's dogs, who normally is so mild mannered, suddenly turned extremely protective of my wife. The dog shocked us one day when we were all standing around chatting, and a neighbour came along with her dogs. My dad's dog was very familiar with the two dogs that were coming, and they had always got on in the past. This time though my dad's dog did an impression of a raging beast from hell and had she not been on her lead we think she would have attacked the other two dogs for no apparent reason at all.

If my wife wasn't there, my dad's dog was her usual placid self, but every time my wife was present, my dad's dog would be way over protective, ready to kill we think. A couple of weeks later we found out my wife was pregnant. We think the dog probably knew this before any of us did, and her maternal protective instincts were taking over.

I'm sure they can see things we can't too. Have you ever been in a room when a dog just stares and stares into empty space, maybe growling at something we can't see, it can be a bit spooky.

My departed dog was always much calmer when somebody in the family was ill or upset. She would come and sit by us on those occasions.
She'd also sit and wait at the front door 15 to 20 minutes before each one of us returned home and check us over when we came in as well as a lovely greeting. :)

Well its well known there are dogs for people who suffer from seizures. They are able to detect an aura before the seizure hits and get the person to sit down thus minimizing injury. Lets face it the backward spelling of Dog is God. Special folks they are.

That reminds me of the dyslexic satanist who sacrificed a toga and sold his soul to santa:heehee::runhills:

When I was a kid, I put a can of coke (other brands are available)
in the deep freeze on a hot day & then necked the whole ting.

Not realising it had gone down to minus 17c i was very quickly dropped to the floor as it dropped my core temperature.

My dog came and snuggled up to my back & put his paws round me till Mum found me.

Unless said Cola had 100 proof Rum in it then you were in an Alcoholic coma
