Between swigs of ale, I've sown 28 toilet roll tubes full of seeds. I set it all up, put the seeds in, then covered them all.

Then I've just read that I should not exclude light. Does that mean I have to put more seeds on top of the compost, or will they come through regardless?

Well I would say RTFM :snork: or the planting instructions in this case. Also 8 pints of best bitter and sowing seeds at midnight do not mix
What have you planted Dave ? Lots of seeds you plant 1/4 or 1/2 deep and you do not exclude light . The photons must find a way to reach the seed....

Apparently they are Madia 'Elegans'. I seem to remember after posting my original post on the subject, I didn't wait for advice, I just put more seeds on top of the compost. Oh well, I guess it theoretically doubles the chance of success:)

I've just found lots of small pepper like seedlings coming up in a pot I sowed with Pumpkin nuts last week, i've obviously sowed them & then forgot to lable. We shall wait & see:doh:

Unless they're zinnias, which specifically said "exclude light". So I put the tray in a blue plastic bag -all I had handy - and hoped for the best. They've come up.
