I must admit, I struggle with all this new technology.
I no longer have a bank, if I need to transfer money.
I no longer have a bank if I want to pay cash in.
    It's all online! I don't have online banking!

I know this is the way it's going but I don't like it :frown:

I remember an elderly relative saying ' the world has changed to much, I can't keep up' ..........
I know exactly how she felt :th scifD36:
My local primary has gone all tech too!
    No interaction, just notifications

Just to add another view to the contactless discussion...its brilliant on the tube...really quick to scan when its mega busy underground and their system automatically works out the cheapest fare option so you never pay more than you need to. :D

I love contactless paying it's so quick and easy. And you don't end up with loads of loose change in your pockets . And with all those seconds you save , you can write a post on GC

I like my debit tap and go card. Anything over $100 must go through the normal "agree to amount, enter pin" so I'm happy with that. I've had fraud happen and the credit card company or bank quickly corrected things. I etransfer money lots and receive same. I renew licence stickers, etc online using credit cards.

I file tax returns, vat tax returns, all sorts online.

As long as you are cautious and not ignorant, you're okay.

My bank statements are all delivered electronically. I track my total portfolio online .

HOWEVER I download and save my statements to my hard drive. Makes sense?

It has been against the law for businesses and local authorities to charge for the use of credit cards, since January 13th 2018. Don't let the B....s get away with it! That also goes the same for organisations such as PayPal.

Forgot to mention, it takes me less time to tap my card than the old gal (my age) in front of me to mess about with her coins and bills and we no longer have pennies!

I use my sorta real name because that's what I've been known as for some 25 years. I'll never forget meeting someone at an interior designers exposition and having my Lori name tag recognized and then a vew minutes later being surrounded by people I had mentored online.

I have never been afraid of much in my life and online threats make me laugh. I don't have lots to lose. I only really ever have been let down, in person, because of my trusting nature.

I guess the luxury of getting old is that no one is going to bother you if you have a brain and a little common sense.

I agree. I never use my debit card online.

We have that same law here for about three years now. So I no longer accept c.c.'s. I refuse to disount my work for 5 % plus monthly processing charges. My company provides niceties not necessities so there is no reason to charge it.

Nope. have not balanced my check book in years. Usually I get Mileage checks from work, that serves as "cash" for me. my job checks are directly deposited. once in a blue moon I will go to a cash machine for some cash, then get the balance sheet, usually I one of us is off by 10 dollars. I move on. I never debt card online. rarely debit card at a store. always credit card online or at a store

                    Always check mine.

Last year a £40 code got taken off a purchase cost twice, I was only charged for one of three £50'ish items delivered, and I was refunded twice for some defective £200+ walking boots.

                    I did not complain.

Yep, I give it a once over. same places I go all the time. Many years ago, there was a purchase by someone in California at a gas station, reported it, bank took it off, closed card and got a new one. The thing I tell banks, is there are only two people in USA with my last name, and we both have red hair, anyone else doing anything is not me.

And I only use one credit card for around my home, another type when I travel, but with that one, I notify the bank where I am going.

So question out there, do you all take copies of your credit card with you in your luggage when traveling?
