    September is quite an auspicious month. :dbgrtmb:

    Saturday the 3rd is Merchant Navy Day -
    chosen as the day in 1939 as the first day of WWII when SS Athena was the first merchant ship to be torpedoed and sunk with the loss of 128 passengers and crew.

    2nd - The Great Fire of London started (I remember it well :old:)

    11th - World Trade Centre and other places were attacked with the loss of nearly 3,000 people.

    The rest are not quite so serious.

    September is National Chicken Month

    5th - National Cheese Pizza Day
    9th - National Teddy Bear Day
    16th - National Play-Doh Day
    19th - Talk Like A Pirate Day (an international event)
