You've got a coastline on the north sea so your sub base could go there and your missiles could be stored in your north York moors dug underground. All possible. Just a question of putting your balls on the line or letting someone else take all the risks while you sit there in Yorkshire spouting drivvle .

Ok to save you having to look at a map. The nuclear subs are located in Faslane. Faslane is 31 miles from Glasgow. The UK generally has a prevailing westerly wind so its most likely a leak would result in Glasgow getting toasted

I thought subs needs deep water , or could we keep them on the beach at Scarborough or Briddy ?

They dock and then sail out into deep water. Siting them in The north sea will let you get to the Russians that bit quicker, so help yourselves

There's no need to insult Yorkshire folk that spout drivel. I'm keen to under this.

I'm sure there must be some logic in there somewhere. I just can't see it yet.

To sum up my understanding of your argument so far....

There is a belief in Scotland that getting all nuclear capabilities out of Scotland will make Scotland safe in that Russia won't attack it. The presence of some of the UK's most important oil and gas infrastructure is of no interest to any potential enemy. And if someone were to invade the UK, they would fail to see the same strategic value in some of Scotland's geography and topology that British military boffins saw when choosing to site some of our best kit in Scotland.

The UK minus Scotland, having been invaded, would not get off a massive retaliatory/defensive strike so we'd fall without resistance and Scotland would not get a massive cloud of radioactive dust. All this would conveniently happen when no Scots had family in the now annihilated UK, and Scotland could then live happily ever after, with no concerns about toxic livestock to eat, and a market in Europe to sell their oil and gas to from the refineries that miraculously the Russians had no interest in and didn't capture or destroy.

Have I understood your argument correctly?
