dress colour matches the ocean (wedding is at the seaside)... and thats a really good colour irrespective

brown bag goes with blue/turquoise (blue and brown go together) .....

brown Jimmy choo shoes match the bag with the brown snakeskin effect ....

shoes and bag must match with the plain dress ....

have different coloured shoes to the bag and you will look like a smartie box ....

only wear low shoes with that dress if you are 6 foot 7 or taller, otherwise you will look like a hillbelly

thats a man's way of looking at things (I'm starting to feel like that chinese fashion guy called Gok Kwan or whatever his name is)

Redstar, if you don't like high heels try wedges with a bit of a platform - that way you can give yourself some height without killing your feet.

I am only 5'3" so I have always loved heels. Recently, however, I've found myself inspecting racks of frumpy shoes and thinking they look 'comfy'. :runforhills: Must resist - it's the beginning of the end. Downhill all the way to big Bridget Jones pants and winceyette nighties.

(My mother-in-law always manages to get my lack of height into the conversation. I wouldn't mind, but even at 5'3" I positively tower over her. Does she see herself as tall and willowy, I wonder? I decided to stay off the hooch at the last gathering, in case I lost the plot and told her the truth: ie, that I'd always thought of her as a small beach ball on casters.)

Hey, 5'3" is willowy to me. I'm 5'1and a half", maybe 5'2" in my flat lace-ups.

Skirts and heels are always a bit of an issue, though, I'd need 4" car-to-bars to look good in a dress like that. Hooray for trousers, I say.

:cat-kittyandsmiley: Been so long since I wore a skirt I'd probably put it on upside down! Spend more time in a dressing gown than anything else:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

God I hate going to weddings. Went through a period in my life where I was going to one at least once a year. Got fed up of spending loads of money on a dress and picked up a white cotton dress off ebay for £5 or something for the last one. I looked like a tramp though.

Well I am 5'7", and yes Ziggy, my legs are decent. A comfortable shoe of only a one inch heel is all I need. Most all summer all I where is sandals. Do want a dress with a little mystery.
                  Love this fashion conscious thread.

Wise choice. Just got one word to say to regular high-heel wearers. BUNIONS!! Especially if your mother or father have them. (My ma does.) You will not escape.

There is a crazy thing that happens as we age I am told is that we lose the fat pad on the ball of our feet. That fat pad is what "used" to let us endure heels.
It is a strange thing, us baby boomer who are aging, and loosing our fat pad also have the money to spend on decent shoes. The shoe manufactors should make note of that and make stylish comforable shoes for us.

Penny good time to look for dress in July, lots of sales then to get rid of the summer stock and make way for the fall/winter stuff. That is also one of my choices to look in early July for sales .

Hmmmm ... works a bit different for men .... when we get old, we loose the hair on our heads, but then it grows out our ears and noses at twice the speed that our hair on our head grows ....
