I think they are flattened stems from what I can remember? it is lovely though I can only imagine what it might be like in a few years time when it's had some proper care and attention it will be positively heaving with flowers

Their all doing rather well, since potting the cuttings up I've had some close fatalities with E. 'Pegasus' & E. 'london Sunshine' all to do with the mix I was using being too wet and so I've switched to a mix of 4pts Cactus compost, 1pt orchid bark, 1pt Perlite which seems to create a nice free draining open mix and hopefully prevent any more set backs

I keep looking as I pass that one I photographed for you to see if it is blooming yet ... the moment it is, I will photograph it ... but must remember to take camera with me which I do not do much these days. :)

                    Hi Everyone,
Sorry to butt in but this is my first post! I love Epiphyllums and all Cacti and Succulents in general. These look like some nice sized cuttings, from that well known place, hope you do well with them. I am always looking to add a few more plants, so if anyone fancies a few swaps, etc. As for general gardening, well I enjoy that too with some wild flowers and Herbs, etc... Auriculas, etc

I have just won an Aporocactus and a Kalanchoe at the same place!!
                    Kind regards
                    Mel.

                      Cactusface,

                      Nice collection of Epis.

I had a few wild type species but my greenhouse was too cold over the winter.
I do have a few Rhipsalis still.

                      Sirius,
I've had a few Rhipsalis but am now down to a new R.Paradoxa, hope to get R.monocantha (Nice orange flowers) soon. We used to have a nice R salicornoides that loved the bathroom and grow and flowered very well. I came here via the Garden-swap shop site and Sal73 so if anyone ever fancies a swap or 2, please just shout, but I have lot more true cacti then epies, etc..

Oh posts on my thread! :)

It's getting late in the year now for epi's but I've potted up my last cuttings of the year which I've been saving up for the last month until I could afford to order some coir & perlite (it's too expensive locally so I order in bulk online) so much has happened since I started growing the first cuttings I received I've changed my mix 3 times and I'm now settled on a mix of
                      • 4lt of Coir
                      • 1lt of Perlite
                      • 1lt of Orchid Bark
                      • 100ml of Bonemeal
                      408526_10151013129241364_2063823705_n.jpg

and a feed of 12-18-18 orchid fertliser at half strength every other watering in the summer my list of plants has gone from 5 at the beginning of February to 70 as of now! I don't do anything by halves :rofllol: I've now totally run out of growing space and I will really need somewhere to put them this spring when they all get repotted so I'm saving up to get a greenhouse hopefully sometime this winter. some of them will hopefully go into hanging pots to give me a bit more space in the greenhouse and I made great find in town yesterday after I spotted that a small department store type shop had closed down they were flogging the old display units cheap so I've managed to pick a couple to hang plants from!

                      IMGP1937.jpg

Now all I have to do is getting them all to live through the winter, wish me luck! :blue thumb:
