    Hello there LOL :)

Throw in a games console, plasma T.V, a chance to re-educate oneself or train in a skill that would cost a fortune for any law abiding citizen, food created by award winning chefs and you would have a typical U.K prison.

So what would you have them do? They will be released, surely a rehabilitated ex offender is better than one even more ignorant and resentful.

The cushy lifestyle of some prisons isn`t open to all offenders-the crime, I think, dictates the prison doesn`t it?

Lolli. I think the attitude to prison is divided two ways.
    1. Make it as tough as you can so that people are terrified of going back.
    2. Use the time to rehabilitate the prisoners.
Both systems will work with people like thee and me. For hardened criminals neither work. They have to decide to change themselves. (e.g. John Mcvicar)
I don't think there are any easy answers to this one unless they bring back CP:)

It`s a toughie isn`t it Cajary? I struggle with the capital punishment aspect of it. If someone is found to be innocent at the moment they can go free, but when they`re dead, well it`s too late.

Hi. lolli. ORD It's not easy is it? I agree with CP on principle for a variety of offences. But if you make a mistake there's no plan "B". I'd prefer a legal system that works to find out what actually happenened, rather than an "adversial" system.
