What a beautiful man, with a beautiful heart - even when speaking, he has such a soothing and warm quality to his voice, and still sounds as good today as he ever did.

Blimey, there is more than a touch of Karen Carpenter about his daughter's voice!

I always remember years ago, a mate of mine went to see Neil Sedaka at a local venue, he obviously liked his music.
But he came away with a different view of him.
He said he came across as a big head.;)

It's strange how our taste in music can change. Thinking back. The Beatles etc, at the time I couldn't stand that type of music. Plus when any of those groups were in town, they were a 'B' nightmare for the police. Now, as perhaps todays music may not be to my taste, many of the sixties tracks are no pleasing to the ear, especially when orchestrated.

I think that although convenient and cost effective. CD's tend to at times annoy one, as to listen to 20 tracts of the same artist can sometimes be a bit too much.

Funnily enough, I watched a half hour special on him yesterday from his beginnings to his comeback and then later. I liked the early days but not the latter. And now he is doing / has done a special for Coronavirus ... and he's 81 now!

I have a lot of CD's of collections of songs from the different eras. So each one has about 20 tracks of different artists.

The one I'm listening to at the moment has artists such as Emile Ford, Dickie Valentine, Chris Barber, Lita Roza (remember her as the 1953 first UK No.1 hit for a female with How Much Is That Doggy In The Window? :heehee: . She was from Liverpool) etc.

@Mike Allen do you remember this version of Mr Blue by David Macbeth? It is a more mellow version of the song by The Fleetwoods (America No 1 hit but nowhere in the UK) where David got it into the top 20 in 1959
