    Saw this film a couple of times when it was released and have the album. Love all the featured tracks ( by various artists) but picked this one that played out the final shot in the film ,sadly after their fatal accident. But nevertheless the song is so beautiful and fitting to those who lived every moment of their life( no matter how long or short) to the full.

        Never was a fan of Elvis ... preferred Cliff, and now he lives down the road from me part time. :heehee: Oh, and he and Bonnie Tyler are friends, who also lives nearby.

          Buffy Saint-Marie is an acquired taste :blue thumb:. In the mid 60's she was one of my favourites.

          This song was written about the Vietnam war and recorded by her in 1964 and was covered by both Glen Campbell and Donovan, who had big hits with it.



          Both that song and this one were on her first album (It's My Way) and I still have my originil copy.



          She has won many awards including BAFTA, Academy and Globe and has been given over a dozen Honorary Doctorates and, only last year, Companion of the Order of Canada.

          I know that she was still performing a couple of years ago at the age of 76.

            He used to live not far from me (a village called Nazeing) and in 1964 (I think) I went to a party at his place. :blue thumb:. I remember he was friendly with a girl called Sam (can't remember anything else about it :noidea:).

                      Have to agree not keen on wiggly hipped Elivis myself but as I said it's the lyrics and the story/ message they convey. It's their music that is important to me, not so much the performer.

                      I personally don't go for pop idols as such, The Osmonds, David Cassidy, Barry Manilow, Tom Jones.. ' What's New Pussy Cat' :yikes: can't get my head around meaningless songs, but I fully appreciate the taste of others.:dbgrtmb:

                          I haven't got any singles anymore or my old LPs.
                          When the CD players were starting to be in the shops, hubby decided to buy one but we didn't have room for that and the turntable, so the CD player wone. I was very upset because i couldn't play my LPs, especially the Carpenters.
